Listening to an old song recalls a particular memory and evokes a hazy longing and nostalgia.

The motor device in the work resembles the mechanism of the cassette tape player. The tape reel is replaced with shreds of translucent paper rolls. While the motor’s power is on,  attemptting to write letters-memories-on the reel of the tape would turn out illegible since the paper keep moves in one direction.

The fabricated empty cassette tapes are filled with illegible, stretched words relate to the title of the work, muted, implies vaguely recalled memories and also paradoxically shows how memories are beautified and stored differently.
